John Murtha / Bill Russell Poll - 12th Congressional District of PA
John Murtha (D) is trying to hold off a challenge from Bill Russell (R) in the 12th Congressional District of PA. This is a seat that was once considered safe for the Democrats but is looking like it may be moving to a toss-up. There has been little polling done in the district since the challenge was not expected to have much of a chance. But Murtha's continuing to lose popularity in parts of the district and may be in danger of losing a seat he has held for over 30 years. PTT's polling currently shows this rate at a statistical dead heat with Bill Russell actually having a slight advantage, at 47.4% to Murtha's 44.3%. There are still a number of undecided voters and the difference is technically within the margin of error. This is very good news for Republicans trying to pick up a long-held Democratic seat.

This is not a scientific poll and was conducted by a lone blogger who spends his time writing about dinosaurs in Washington (The Murthasaurus) and advice columns for presidential candidates. We are not aware of any public polls conducted by any of the major polling organizations. Ours should not be taken as anything more than a blogger on the street asking questions.

A poll from an anti-murtha BLOG?? Geez, it is scary that Russell couldn't pull more numbers than that even there. Murtha will win, with at least 60%...just as always.
If residents of Murtha's district vote for him after calling them racists, then rednecks.... they get what they deserve!

What's with the CAPS?
So authorities are looking into how Russell raised money? Isn't this about the time Murtha comes out and convicts him. He is, afterall, judge and jury.
These "investigations" happen all the time and are not what the clearly unbiased (insert laughter here) MoveOnRussell.Org would like to make them out to be.
But thanks for the laugh. We need that every once in a while living here in Murtha's district.
